This pattern takes its inspiration from Ottoman geometrical patterns, however no pattern such as this existed. If this design would have existed it would possibly appear on 16th century Iznik tiles. Updated: 2008-08-22 04:05:07

I have first come up with this pattern from a ceramic plate of Ottoman origin. The core aspect of this pattern is its simplicity, yet is very powerful, especialy imagine them as a tile pieces surrounding your kitchen or bathroom. Updated: 2008-08-20 03:53:52

The origin of Uchgen 45°texture is the same as Uchgen, this one is 45 degree rotated, indeed it usually appears as in Uchgen, there are few walls in Ottoman Architecture that actualy have these rotated versions. Updated: 2008-08-20 03:53:52

You can see this pattern at walls in traditional Ottoman Architecture, one example is Yeşil Medrese in Bursa, Turkey, where I take the name. This pattern is also widely used in Çini ceramics and as decoration on floor tiles. Updated: 2008-08-20 03:53:52

Very simple and widely seen pattern, created by combining equilateral triangles. This pattern may be seen in many places around the world in Mexico, in China, in Turkey, as it is a traditional knitting pattern. In Turkish art, you can see them at Kilims. Updated: 2008-08-20 03:53:52

Yet another pattern that can be observed on Ottoman Kilims as decoration, the pattern is created by equal division of equilateral triangles by three. Then the three pieces are rotated and tiled next to each other. Updated: 2008-08-20 03:53:52
