In historical settings of Ottoman Architecture, this pattern has been used on wood as an emboss, and the central is also mostly decorated. It is two patterns on top of each other, there is little and big hexagons and diamonds. Updated: 2008-08-26 12:56:36

Truely traditional in feeling, this pattern incorporates a central geometric floral design in the center, as it has been used in the past in Ottoman decoration on wood and metal. Patterns #43 and #42 are all from the same tradition. Updated: 2008-08-26 19:34:23

This is a variation on one of the most common Ottoman decorative patterns, used on stone, ceramics and wood as emboss or simply drawing. I preffered to outline some of them in lighter/darker color to give three-dimensional feeling. Updated: 2008-08-26 19:40:48

Takes its roots from polynesian barkcloth motifs, this pattern has also a swril a spiral in the middle. The three dots were introduced as an additional element to give an ottoman feeling, as this pattern may also be an islamic one with its perfect geometry. Updated: 2008-09-04 22:17:57

This a bit of complication of the Fasil pattern #58, which had only two elements, this one has four seperate shapes and a different filling style. Updated: 2008-09-07 21:27:23

The inspiration for this design comes from the bigscreen in Beijing Olymics where there were a lot of Drums, the shape is totaly geometric, composed of circles and squares. I will mark this pattern as Chinese for its inspiration. Some of them look like go pieces on board. Updated: 2008-09-10 18:41:13
