This pattern uses only two geometric shape as a base, it is a modern interpretation of an old polynesian pattern. It uses a grid system but definetly not a tartan design. The inspiration was spear-arrow heads used in polynesian patterns. Updated: 2008-09-04 21:46:11

Takes its roots from polynesian barkcloth motifs, this pattern has also a swril a spiral in the middle. The three dots were introduced as an additional element to give an ottoman feeling, as this pattern may also be an islamic one with its perfect geometry. Updated: 2008-09-04 22:17:57

This patterns inspiration comes from scales of snakes or some fish, indeed I first aimed to draw some Garuda wings. Because similar patterns existed in polynesia I will categorise this one as polynesian, however this pattern is purely geometric and there is only one element that is repeating in the core.
